Making Our Dream Become a Reality

In our previous post  “My Dream” we discussed our desire to travel in a semi-nomadic fashion via horses and horse drawn wagon.  Well we have started to work on making that dream a reality.

We invite you to join us in our journey. Follow our progress as we train the horses and prepare the wagon to set out to spread knowledge of many of the old ways and the word of God.  The Creator has supplied us with the things we need,  you just have to learn what is out there.

This is the wagon we will be using to start with. Its basically usable as is, but since we plan on it being our mobile home and school house. We want it not only “useable” but also comfortable. We are going to dress it up as a Romani Vardo with a Celtic forest flare. That sounds confused I know, but it is very “us”. Here are some of our inspiration pictures!

The horses!

Lexa and Jacob will be our main team pulling the wagon. Lexa is experienced pulling and Jacob is coming along pretty quickly and willingly. We will be creating a separate blog post to show the progress of the horses and how we train them.

Cisco, Thunder and Buttercup will also be joining us. As well as Isaac eventually!

Trips!

For our initial trips we plan to stay fairly close to home. We want to get the feel for what we need and how to plan. So our first planned trip is to Yorktown Texas where we have lots of family and friends. This will be a 50 mile trip and take us approximately 3 days of driving and 2 nights of camping. We will be traveling at a whopping 3 miles per hour.

Eventually we would like to do longer trips. Possibly even at some point going to Iowa where Jeff’s Mom lives.
